To understand potential users, I conducted interviews with Spanish speakers who frequently interact with people from other Hispanic countries. As a native Spanish speaker from the Dominican Republic, I relied on my own network: family, classmates, teachers, and friends from various Latin American countries all of whom were excited to contribute their experiences.

I focused on the following audiences and identified their primary needs, pain points, and goals.

Needs: Communicate naturally while visiting other Hispanic countries.

Pain Point: Struggle to understand local slang and dialects in casual conversation.

Goal: Feel confident speaking with locals in the country they are visiting.

Needs: Ensure the language used in meetings and presentations is appropriate.

Pain Point: Risk of miscommunication or offending someone due to words that change meaning by country.

Goal: Navigate work settings with confidence when speaking in a different dialects.

Needs: An easy way to explore dialects and slang when learning/teaching Spanish.

Pain Point: Dialect specific information is available online but it is time consuming to search for.

Goal: Make learning or teaching Spanish and the nuances of regional dialects more easily accessible.
