Key Insights through User Research

To understand user needs, I conducted interviews with families, food enthusiasts, and individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds who value preserving family recipes. Participants included parents, food lovers, and younger generations interested in passing down family traditions.

Bonding through Food

Participants shared their individual experiences of how family meals play a big role in cultural traditions and getting their families together.

Difficulty Preserving Recipes

Research confirmed the audience has interest in a digital solution to store and share recipes. There is risk on relying on memory and/or handwritten notes to preserve recipes.

Competitive Analysis

Existing recipe management apps like Recipe Keeper and RecipeBox offer great and innovative tools for recipe collection and organization but don’t emphasize the cultural or family aspects of recipe preservation. Other platforms like Mixbook and Shutterfly offer customizable cookbooks but lacks the component of the app integration component to organize and share recipes.

Famealy differentiates from other apps by:

  • Focusing on family and cultural traditions.
  • Ability to create custom cookbooks or recipe card while also organizing their recipes digitally.
  • Allowing multiple users to contribute within the same cookbook for easier recipe input and family collaboration.
